BALTIMORE, MD (June 13, 2008)— Some Light Rail patrons will be met Monday morning with refreshments and giveaways, as the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) holds the Light Rail Customer Appreciation day at the Timonium Fairgrounds Light Rail Stop. The event will begin at 6:00 a.m. and will continue until 9:00 a.m. Evening riders will also have an opportunity to enjoy the festivities since the event will resume at 3:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m.
On June 15, Light Rail trains will not run north of the Timonium Road Stop due to construction of a new rail crossing on Warren Road. To show customer appreciation, MTA has partnered with Dunkin Donuts to provide snacks for riders.
“We would like to thank our Light Rail customers for their loyalty, patience, and continued patronage,” said Paul J. Wiedefeld, MTA Administrator. “We especially thank those customers who will be inconvenienced while rails are updated.”
Shuttle Busses will service all Light Rail stops north of Timonium Road to Hunt Valley Towne Centre.
Construction is expected to last into August.
