For Immediate Release:  April 11, 2008

GOVERNOR O’MALLEY, SENATOR MILLER REMIND PUBLIC OF NEW
EXPANDED SERVICE AT THE PRINCE FREDERICK MVA
Office Will Be Open An Additional Day Each Week; Customer Convenience is Key

GLEN BURNIE, MD (April 11, 2008) – Governor Martin O’Malley and Senate President  Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr., want to remind the public that effective Wednesday, April 16, 2008, the Prince Frederick MVA Branch will be open each Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Currently, the Prince Frederick Office is only open Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The addition of Wednesday service is designed to meet growing demand in Calvert County and Southern Maryland

“We can now offer the citizens more flexibility to conduct their MVA business,” said Governor O’Malley.  “As one of the fastest growing regions in Maryland, Prince Frederick office needs to be open an additional day each week to allow greater convenience to the citizens in of Calvert County.  Our top priority at the MVA is to meet the needs of our customers by being convenient and efficient.”

The Prince Frederick MVA Office is a satellite branch that provides the most in-demand MVA services to the public.  These include the issuance of driver’s license renewals and identification cards and tag returns (license plates being turned in).  The branch conducts approximately 19,500 transactions annually.

“Governor O’Malley and I are committed to the citizens of Southern Maryland,” stated Senator Miller.  “By working together, we will continue to meet the needs of our constituents.  Calvert County will benefit greatly by the additional services at the MVA.”

The Prince Frederick MVA Office is located at 200 Duke Street in the Louis L Goldstein District Court – Multi-Service Center in Prince Frederick, Maryland.  The closest full-service MVA branches are located in Charles County at Waldorf and in St Mary’s County at Loveville.
