BALTIMORE, MD -- The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) announced today changes to bus schedules beginning Sunday, June 10, 2007. Schedules will change for 19 bus lines. The changes include additional running time to improve on-time performance, more trips to reduce overcrowding, and more even spacing of trips to make the service easier to use.
The MTA makes bus schedule changes in the Summer and Fall to coordinate with school schedules, and in Winter if additional changes are necessary.
The following is a list of the changes to take place:
No. 3 Line - For southbound trips to Inner Harbor, route simplified to avoid congestion on Pratt Street.
No. 8 Line - In the evening, four trips added southbound from Lutherville through Towson area to address overcrowding. On Saturdays only, 15-minute service frequency extended to 10:20 PM with the addition of six trips.
No. 9 Line - More time added to rush hour trips to improve on-time performance.
No. 10 Line - More time added to schedule on weekdays, particularly along Eastern Avenue, to improve on-time performance. During the afternoon rush hour, frequency increased from 12 minutes to 10 minutes.
No. 11 Line - Schedule modified to reduce the number of alternative routes, coordinate with evening rush hour MARC Train service at Penn Station, and extend more trips to Goucher College during rush hour.
No. 14 Line - Additional trip added Saturday mornings between Patapsco Station and Cromwell Station.
No. 15 Line - Schedule modified to reduce the number of alternative routes, restore service on Forest Park Avenue following the completion of the bridge, add time between Security Square Mall and Woodlawn Drive to improve on-time performance, and create a more regular schedule to White Marsh. On the east side, 15 Express revised to stop at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
No. 16 Line - Mid-day trips have been better combined with peak trips to provide continuous service throughout the day.
No. 20 Line - Two additional afternoon rush hour trips have been added leaving CMS at 4:59AM and 6:05 AM to Downtown/CCBC Dundalk.
No. 22 Line - Midday weekday schedule made more regular to provide a 15-minute frequency.
No. 24 Line - Route extended westward to loop via Selig Avenue to provide better connections with both 40 Quickbus and Middlesex Shopping Center.
No. 33 Line - During rush hour, every other trip will only go as far as Moravia to make better use of buses.

No. 50 Line - To provide access between Clareway Senior Citizen Complex and Erdman Shopping Center, weekday midday service and last service trip revised to operate on weekend route at 40-minute frequency. Rush hour trips to operate on Brehms Lane instead of Cliftmont Avenue like the weekend route does.
No. 68 Line - Eliminated due to opening of Forest Park Avenue bridge and return of No. 15 line.
No. M6 Line - Schedule modified to provide a regular 30-minute frequency from the start of service until 9 PM, when service operates hourly.
